Ilaria Senaldi, PhD

Ilaria Senaldi is currently holds positions of both the CEO and legal representative of Sismica360.

She graduated in Building Engineering and Architecture at the University of Pavia in 2007 and in 2012 she obtained the Master of Science and the Ph.D. in Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology at the ROSE School of the University Institute for Superior Studies of Pavia (IUSS).She is currently a Post-Doc research fellow at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of University of Pavia.

She has been involved in several experimental campaigns involving shaking table tests of masonry buildings and has dealt with the analysis and interpretation of the acquired data from these tests as well as developing numerical models of the structures tested. Her current research is devoted to the study of the seismic vulnerability of existing masonry buildings and the assessment of the influence and effectiveness of strengthening interventions.

She has also been studying the seismic response of existing building aggregates constructed in masonry. As part of a project funded by the Cariplo Foundation, she performed the assessment of seismic vulnerability for several historic buildings forming a part of the built heritage of the University of Pavia. She is the author / co-author of several scientific publications and also carries out specialist training in professional associations.

She was actively involved in post-earthquake surveys following the earthquakes of L’Aquila (Italy) in 2009, Christchurch (New Zealand) of 2010-2011 and Central Italy 2016-2017, in particular of public facilities, schools and architecturally or historically significant buildings including but not limited to churches.
